I love how her mom is encouraging her along the way as well!

For some reason the screen is cut off so you can go to YouTube and type in Little Christian Girl Praying to see the full screen!

Sex and the City 2

(* Don't worry, There are no spoilers in this post! I just have 1 quote from Samantha!!)

F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S.

That is the only way to describe the movie!
The fashion was to die for!!!! Morocco was beautiful! The girls were wonderful!!!

The hubby & I were planning to go Thursday night but when I heard we were having a midnight showing I couldn't wait and rushed to buy tickets. As soon as we walked in the hubby started shaking his head at all the "chatter" from a theater full of women. All the previews were for chick flicks...especially when they showed the preview for the next Twilight and all the women screamed and cheered! Hilarious!

He told me I owed him the next five movie picks because (a) I made him come to a midnight show (b) because we were in a theater full of women (young & old) (c) because we were watching SATC (d) I picked the last 3 chick movies! Oh what a great hubby I have to sit with me through all these movies! Ha!

And because I am such a huge SATC fan, I had to dress for the occasion! I took pics of the dress & shoes I wore because they look better off than on aka the dress accentuates my top half in a huge way which I didn't notice until I looked at the camera! lol!

The hubby & I! :)
SN: I am working on him to cut that darn beard off! Ughh! LOL!

The fabulous shoes I wore! LOVE these!

The dress I wore! Had to look good for the premier!
(excuse the mess in the background please!)
I don't want to spoil the movie for y'all, but I have to post my favorite line, courtesy of Miss Samantha Jones.... " I'm fifty-fucking-two and I will ROCK that dress!" Gotta love Samantha!
(excuse that French but it's Samantha, how can you edit her?)

I sat next to an older lady and felt kind of embarrassed for her at some of the parts of the movie. She was literally a grandmother. But I tell you what, that woman LOVED the movie & laughed very loudly at EVERYTHING...including the last scene with Samantha. And if y'all know Samantha, you know what that scene involves. We'll leave it at that!

Enjoy the movie ladies! I can't wait to read your reviews!!

Our Family Wedding

The hubby and I went to the $1.50 movie Monday night to see this:
I know we're late, but I thought it was just the funniest movie! Afterwards, we came home and we re-watched Sex and the City (part 1) to get prepared for TOMORROW!!!!! The hubby kept insisting he was up-to-date and didn't need to re-watch it, but when I started naming names (i.e. Mr. Big, Aidan, etc) and he didn't know who was who, I insisted we re-watch it! LOL! Although, he sure did know who Samantha was...Figures! ;)

I am so happy my hubby has no problem going to see this with me! I know some men would not be to thrilled about it. I am so excited to see WHY Aidan is back, the fashion, & the fabulous girls back in action!! Is anyone else going to see it tomorrow? If so, are you dressing up? :)

Recipe- Macaroni Salad

Macaroni Salad

*image from google- not Julie's mac salad.

Here is the recipe to the BEST macaroni salad I've ever had! My friend Julie brought this to our bbq this past weekend, and everyone loved it! She doesn't cook with measuring cups and I know this can be annoying for people like me who have to measure everything! I'm just no Paula Dean y'all, so I haven't mastered that skill yet! Here we go....

Ingredients:

Box of Elbows (boiled of course)

5-6 hard boiled eggs

1 can of pea & carrots ( can that's already mixed together)-drained

1 can of corn-drained

1 RED onion

Mayonnaise

Apple Cider Vinegar

Salt

What to do:

In your dish mix the pasta, corn, peas & carrots.

Grind in 1/4 of the red onion.
Grind in the eggs.

Add mayo, apple cider vinegar, & salt until the taste is to your liking.
Put in the fridge to chill.

Seems simple enough but WE WILL SEE! And if any of you don't like eggs, onions, or vinegar, please believe me when I say you can't even taste it...AT ALL. She said she "folds" in the mayo, vinegar & salt in intervals until she gets the desired taste & consistency.
The way she made it, it was soooo creamy and yummy!
Let me know if any of you try it.
I'm scared to try it myself without actual measurements!

Top Two Tuesday...dates

Today's Top Two topic is dates!

The first favorite date would be our first "married" Valentine's date! The hubby took me to Atlanta and we had dinner at The Sundial. I LOVE this place! It very slowly revolves and gives you a full 360 degree view of Atlanta!

My second favorite date was dinner atop the Eiffel Tower...in Vegas that is! lol!

We went last summer & had a fabulous view of the fountain show at the Bellagio. The food was soooo good and the staff were very friendly & professional!

Here is an image of the fabulous meal we had there!!
It was THE best Filet Mignon ever!!
I will come back & add more actual pictures once I find them!

Weekend Recap

Things were quite busy at the Lawton residence this weekend. Friday just hung out at home and relaxed. I installed some memory onto my computer and got it moving so fast that I stay up til 9:30am on Saturday!!! I couldn't believe it! I guess I was just so excited that I kept surfing the net. Since I was up so early I made the hubby breakfast in bed for the FIRST time! I guess he thought he was dreaming because when I woke up him up and said "Breakfast in Bed" he moaned NOOOOO! lol! He did get up after about 5 minutes, he said he thought he was dreaming. Very funny!

*this is not our house!

Saturday we did yard work. Well, the hubby did most of it. But I think I had the hardest work of all. I had to pull all the ivy off our fence. Ivy is terrible down here and it drives me crazy. No matter what I do, it comes back! Ughh!

Sunday we had a big bbq that lasted all day. We had several friends over & just had a great time hanging out at our house. Later on we moved to the park so the kids wouldn't be too bored! I'd post pics but can you believe I didn't take that many! :( I also have a recipe I want to share once I get all the details! It was the yyummiest macaroni salad ever!!

Show Us Your Life Friday- Your Hometown

My hometown is a city in GA, which is south of Atlanta.

We are home to this familiar face:

The Aflac duck.

We were voted #4 for best cities to raise a family in the US.

The National Infantry Museum was built in a neighboring city in 2009 and it is massive!

One of the best drinks ever was concocted here!

We have several parks, golf clubs, venues, and shopping that could keep you busy for a while!

The only problem is....if you decide to visit, you won't find us on Expedia! Our city sued the online site for money associated with the money they made from bookings to our city. In return, or out of anger, Expedia blocked us from showing up on their website! Isn't that crazy!

So if you want to visit, let me know so I can send you the listings of hotels! lol!

Baker High in flames!

Tonight (Wednesday night) was quite sad for our community. Baker High School was built in 1945 and the last graduating class was in 1991. It's been a sore topic for our city. City officials wanted to get rid of it since it wasn't in use, but the alumni and lots of residents in our community didn't want to see it go.

I didn't attend Baker, although I had several friends and parents of friends that did. As soon as I heard the news (on facebook of all places), I hopped in the car and picked up my friend Lillian, and we went straight to the school. I hate I didn't bring my pro camera. I don't know what I was thinking not taking it! But I did have my little point & shoot (which didn't do a very good job).

It's sad to see a community landmark go up in flames! :(

In other news, I tried Megan's (from In This Wonderful Life) recipe for Ritz Poppy Seed Chicken! It turned out soooo good! I love finding & trying all the quick recipes on y'alls blogs! I've actually tried out about 5 recipes so far. Sorry I didn't snap a picture- I had just popped it in the oven, heard about Baker, and rushed out the door. By the time I got home, the hubby had already started eating. LOL! And let me add, I really dislike cooking. Anything fast & simple I will at least try. This recipe was both fast & easy! :)

And here is the last piece of weird news I wanted to share. This one freaks me out. Tonight I was planning to take pictures of my cooking and when I looked through the images on my camera, this was the first one on there. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT IT IS! It looks like a person or figure doesn't it? It was taken May 8th, but not by me or the hubby. This is right out in our front yard area toward the end of the driveway. When I showed the hubby he literally threw the camera back to me!

Yes, I am a professional photographer but I am not that good with photoshop to create something like this. WHAT IS IT! I am so freaked out by this!!It gives me the chills just seeing it!

Wishful Wednesday

Today's topic is "I wish....I could come home to this bedroom every night!"
I just want something roomy, clean, and comfy!
So for me something like this would be perfect...
(although the hubby probably wouldn't care for this at ALL!)

Top Two Tuesday...to do before you die!

I have the travel bug so my top two things to do before I die are...

Visit GREECE! I'd to take a few weeks to travel to all the islands and just enjoy the country and see all the sites!

The second thing I'd like to do is live abroad somewhere. Probably Europe. There are way too many countries that I'd like to visit in Europe, so it'd be easier if I was already living there.

Weekend Recap

Well we went to see Letters to Juliet Friday and I was a bit disappointed. I loved the cast, the story, etc but it just didn't seem as great as it could have been. It kind of lagged. Plus we had 3 teen girls behind us that TALKED.THE.ENTIRE.MOVIE. Can you say aggravating? I kept giving them the "half turn look" in hopes that they would stfu, but to no avail. Why did they even come to the movies if they were gonna talk the whole time. I finally got so frustrated that I mumbled (loudly) a few choice words and it calmed them down a bit. It wasn't until the hubby turned around with a full stare that they piped down- for about 20 minutes! UGH!

Saturday I shot an intimate wedding. It was really small and it took me just 3 hours to shoot the wedding and reception! I am used to 8 hour days when shooting weddings so this gave me the rest of the Saturday to relax.

Every Sunday the guys play basketball and we throw a little something on the grill. This time Bebe avoid the playground and had fun running around.

Today is my goddaughter's 16th birthday! I can't believe it! I was 16 when she was born so I feel OLD today. Time does fly! Happy birthday to my sweet A'liahna! :) This is a pic of her when she was just 8 (on Halloween)!

Cruisin'

I loooooooooove to travel! Who doesn't?? I once read an article that said everyone should "get away" a few times a year. Women need at least 4-6 vacations a year (and they can be mini vacations) and men need at least 2-3.

Vacationing is a huge stress reliever for me! Not that I am so stressed out but if I were, laying on the beach with an old fashion pina colada would whip me back into pure bliss. lol!

So last night I found a grrreat deal for a simple 2 night cruise to the Bahamas! The hubby and I actually went to the Bahamas back in 2002, but we flew in and stayed about 4 days. So it was no big deal for us to be going for short a short visit this time around. The ship leaves from West Palm Beach which I am looking forward to!!

We'll be aboard the Bahamas Celebration:

This will be the hubby's first cruise! My first cruise was in 2007 to Cozumel, Mexico for an all girl's trip! We had such a great time! Here's me & the girls on our trip:

This is when I had long curly hair (second from the left)!

In other news, you should visit In This Wonderful Life for a cute giveaway she's having!

Wishful Wednesdsay

This is my first "Wishful Wednesday" post!
And today's topic is " I wish I hadn't thrown ___ away."

So my regret is that I wish I wouldn't have thrown away my childhood diaries. When I met the hubby and moved out for the first time, I had over 20 years of junk in my room. I knew I couldn't possibly take everything with me, like my large collection of NKOTB posters <-- for those who don't know what NKOTB is, that would be New Kids on the Block! lol!

I also had boxes of childhood notes that we would pass in class. Just random letters that said things like what are you doing after class, this class sucks, the teacher is so boring...y'all know what we used to write about.

But my childhood diaries...now those held all my secrets. My thoughts about boys, friends, school, and life. "Back in the days" we always started an entry with Dear Diary! lol! Mine kind of looked like this:

What was I thinking throwing my diaries away?! :( This actually has me thinking that I may have stashed some them in my old closet in a box of junk somewhere. So now I may be paying a visit to my mom's house to do some detective work! lol!

A taste of Italy

I love ALL THINGS ITALIAN! When the hubby proposed, the first thing I said was "We are going to Italy for 2 weeks- there are no other options." I love the country, the food, the people, etc!

So when I walked into Subway today, I saw the new Parmesan & Tuscan Herb chips by Lays. Now my first thought was that they would be overly cheesy and taste nothing like the description. My second thought was, WHY is Subways always out of my sour cream & onion chips. I ALWAYS get sour cream and onion. If they don't have them, I will stop at the gas station to buy them because I just always eat them with my sub sandwich.

Well this time I didn't feel like making another stop. I just wanted to get my sandwich and go home. So I reluctantly grabbed the new Parmesan & Tuscan Herb chips, paid for my meal, and went home.

O.M.G. These chips are DA BOMB! Do you hear me out there? I couldn't stop eating them! They were full of flavor which was very surprising for a BAKED chip! I hiiiiiighly recommend these chips! In fact, I will be heading to Wal-mart tomorrow to see if they have the full size bags yet! Go Lays for bringing me a small taste of Italy!

Happy Monday

I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend! Since we spent Saturday celebrating mother's day, the hubby & I went to lunch at Loco's yesterday. I love this place! To our surprise it wasn't packed!

Afterwards we took Bebe to the park. The hubby played basketball and Bebe and I walked around. Then the unfortunate happened, she decided to climb onto the actual playground area and her paw (nail) got stuck in a groove! She immediately started crying and I couldn't get her loose! I started screaming for help and all the guys from the basketball court ran over to try and help. She kept trying to move & jump and kept crying! I felt sooooo bad for her! I finally got a good grip on her paw and got her set free. WHAT A RELIEF! For a minute I thought we were going to have to call the fire department to come cut the metal around her paw. *whew*

Bebe walked (ran) away without so much as a scratch and was back to her normal self within minutes! Thank God!

Happy Mother's Day!

(Flowers for all the wonderful mother's in our life...
my mom and the hubby's mom, grandmother, & 2 aunts!)

I just wanted to wish all the wonderful mother's out there a very Happy Mother's Day! We celebrated a day early because we know everything will be crowded tomorrow.

I took my mom shopping today and bought her a new suit & a pair of shoes for church tomorrow. Then we had lunch @ Ryan's. I don't know why that woman loves that place so much but she wants to go for every occasion! lol!

A few hours later the hubby & I went to visit his grandmother in the hospital. She has pneumonia but seems to be doing great. After our visit we went out to eat with his parents, aunt, and cousin. Surprisingly, this was his parents first time eating Korean food! Father-in-law loved it, but mother-in-law wasn't too impressed! lol!

We're not sure what we'll be doing for the rest of today. The hubby usually plays basketball on Sundays with his friends...but since he injured his knee last Sunday we'll probably just hang out around the house.

I hope everyone enjoys their day!

I just found Beth's blog so I am a day late on this topic! But I wanted to participate anyways.

The topic at hand is favorite snacks!

1.Trail Mix- I eat trail mix just about everyday!

2. Mandarin Oranges- YUM! My mom got me hooked on these as a kid! Still eat them to this day!

3. Yogurt- I buy in bulk at Sam's! I especially like the strawberry/banana mix!

4. Pudding- banana, chocolate, vanilla...I just love all pudding!

5.Yaki-Mandu- huh? I know most of you may not know what this is. I'm part Korean and this is basically a Korean dumpling- eggroll like. Dip it in some soy sauce and YUMMY! Head to your nearest Korean restaurant and order some!
