Weekend Affairs

Happy Monday!

I can say that and honestly mean it now that I am 100% self employed.

Friday night hubby & I went out to eat at one of those hibachi restaurants.
I always love a good hibachi if the chef is entertaining...and ours was hilarious!

After dinner we decided to head to the mall.
I needed to find something to wear to a concert we're going to this Thursday.
Macy's had just put out so many new clothes and they were too pricey
for me to buy for once concert.

I actually hid lots of items I wanted to buy when they go on sale...

does anyone else do this?

I always move the items to a totally different department behind

formal gowns or men's clothes.

I'm weird, I know, Ha!

 

Saturday my mom & I went to Christmas Made in the South.
It's a huge craft show that is held annually across the south.
You can find lots of Christmas goodies at this show from the several
talented vendors!

My mom racked up and bought all kinds of goodies.
I was overwhelmed because there was just so much to see!
But I did leave with this cute Christmas door decor:

You can't tell from this picture but it is huge & was only $30!

I seriously cannot believe how fast this year has been.
It's November which means lots of fall family photo sessions, preparing for
the holidays, lots of parties & activities.
So hopefully this means frequent blogging for me as well. :)

Weekend Recap

It's Monday again? Didn't we just have this last week?

I hate that I live for the weekends.

Monday - Friday I feel like I am just exisiting,

but when Friday rolls around it's like life has been restored finally.

Does anyone else feel like this?

This weekend was good & bad.

The good:

Friday was our employee appreciation day so 

after all the festivities at work, I took the rest of the day off.

I got to spend time with my niece!

I also managed to squeeze in a pedicure at the only

Podiatrist owned nail salon in GA.

Overpiced a bit but at least I know it's clean & sanitary.

I picked up this cute little new cup for myself.

Saturday the hubby & I took my mom to see

Quidam by Cirque du Soleil.

It was an amazing show and made

me wish I would have stayed in gymnastics.

Those gals & guys are quite flexible.

 

Sunday we spent most of the day with my hubby's family
and then went to my mom's house afterwards and hung out with her.

The bad news of the weekend:
I have a friend who's 3 year old daughter
choked to death on a hotdog.
I don't know all the specifics, other than
she choked on the hotdog last Friday, was put into a medically induced
coma all week, and then died this past Friday.

So please say a prayer for her, her husband, and other 3 kids!

Can we get an extra day in the weekend?

Maybe 3 full days off and 4 full work days?

I'd gladly sign a petition for 1 less work day. :)

Friday was our wind down night.

We just sat back & watched some movies

and then I was up all night working on Ancestry.com again.

I'm trying to do as much as possible before

my 14 day free trial expires! 

Saturday I woke up with a sore throat and stuffy head.

It was very mild but I felt the funk coming.

So I went for my trusty remedy that ALWAYS works.

Listerine.

Everytime I feel a little cold coming, I gargle Listerine.

You have to gargle it to the point where you're almost choking on it.

I know it sounds gross, but it works!

every.single.time.

I haven't gotten sick in almost 2 years because of this little tip!

I don't use this purple one that's pictured though.

I use the blue stuff, with the alcohol in it. 

So the next time you're feeling a little sick, try this!

But you must try it as soon as you feel it coming, 

not when you're already sick.

Saturday night, I went to a "girl's night in" for a friend's 31st birthday.

The plan was to play a few games, have a few drinks, enjoy 

some good food and then go out.

Well, 2 Lifetime movies later...it was a wrap.

That channel will suck you in and have you stuck to the couch!

Sunday we hung out at my mom's & relaxed all day.

We did go ahead and reserve our rooms for Panama City Beach.

We're anxious to get down there this summer and all the rooms

are already booking up so fast.

So now we're counting down the days!

Saturday we went to my brother's fiance's baby shower.

There were lots of yummy treats!

They received so many gifts!

I can see why they tell you not to buy too much before the baby

arrives, because you truly do get SO much at your baby shower!

After the baby shower, hubby & I took a friend out for dinner & drinks at TGIFs.

I LOVE their tropical berry mojito & pot stickers!

I was in the mood to try something different so I ordered the

Korean Tacos.

I hate to say it, but these were awful in my opinion.

I think it was the cilantro (that I asked them to hold but they forgot).

Sunday we went to Lowe's and FINALLY bought some tile

for our kitchen makeover. 

This is going to be a long process so there won't 

be before & after pics anytime soon!

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was SO exhausting! I shot a wedding in Auburn and it was an allllll day affair.

By the time I got home, my legs were sore, my feet were hurting, & I was tired as hell.

And I have to do it all over again this upcoming weekend as well as two more weddings next month.

I thank God for the business but I am getting too old for this! 

I did want to point out the toast the best man made. 

The best man said "When selecting a woman there are 3-C's that us guys have. The first C is, is she Cute? The second C is, is she Cool. The third C is, is she Crazy. As long as the answers are yes, yes, & no then you know you got a good one!" HA!

I thought that was hilarious!

Today we officially have 30 days till Hawaii!

I've got some last minute things to buy & do but I'm saving that for 

a guest post I'll be doing on another blog soon. So stay tuned!  :)

One Shoe Can Change Your Life ~ Cinderella

I can't pass up a good shoe sale. Ever. 

Even if I have no immediate need or place to wear these, I had to get them.

Both.

The crystals are actually clear, not sure why they look brown in the pic!

In addition to shoes, I re uped on 3 important items from MAC.

Brush Cleanser.

VERY important to keep your brushes clean!

I can't tell how much of a difference it makes.

Paint Pot in Painterly

I use this as a primer for eye shadow.

It makes your eye shadow pop in & keeps it on all day, in my opinion!

Eye Brow stick in Lingering.

I have thing about eyebrows. 

I hate to see over plucked, too bushy, or poorly shaped eyebrows!

Even with my naturally dark brows, this gives them a more defined look.

But don't go overboard.

Apparently she has no friends, because I don't know who 

told her it was ok to post this online.

Excited!

 I got some GREAT news this weekend!

My brother & his girlfriend are expecting a baby in April!!

I am so very excited & happy for them!

My mom on the other hand, is old school. She's semi-happy about it.

She wants them to get married of course. I am sure they've talked about it and I kind of have a feeling that was in the works anyways. My brother is already talking about trading his car in.

I know you have to give things up & make changes when kids come along,

but damn...not the car! LOL!

Saturday was a looong day.

I went to the DMV & I was in & out in 37 minutes.

Can you believe that?

There's definitely some interesting people at the DMV.

A lady sitting behind me was crying as if someone had died!

A friend called her & she was explaining how she gets so emotional in the DMV. WTH?

I don't know what that was about! 

I also had a "close stander" situation in line. 

This guy was so close to me, that our elbows kept touching.

Seriously, who stands that close in line?

Afterwards I picked my mom up & we did some shopping for Hawaii.

I got 2 new bathing suits, towels, she got luggage, some clothes, etc.

I'll be broke before I even get on the plane!

Less than 50 days to go!

After shopping I went to my friend's baby's 1st birthday party.

She really outdid herself & had a huge party at her mom's house.

They had face painting, musical chairs, ring toss, swimming, & a pinata!

The cake blew me away!

After the party I was too pooped to do anything else.

So I missed the bridal shower & baby shower. :(

Sunday night was of course the season finale of True Blood!

Does anyone else watch True Blood?

All I can say is: WOW!!! What a cliff hanger!

Weekend Recap

I had a very interesting & entertaining weekend!

Friday the hubby & I just hung out at home as normal.

We ordered in & watched our typical Friday night shows- to include "What Would You Do?"

We also found out we didn't win the lottery as anticipated, 

so our celebration trip to Vegas was cancelled.

Saturday afternoon I went to a football game for my friend's son.

Then hung out with my mom & she taught me how to make some Korean dishes!

Saturday night, I was hired to shoot a 30th Birthday party.

This was no ordinary party.

Turns out it was an Alter Ego Party.

There was a host who gave the attendees lessons on "pleasing your man" to put it nicely.

She taught women how to be sexy, how to dance like a stripper, and...

let's just say there were bananas involved in the "lesson."

I literally laughed my ass off the entire time!

I learned a lot but I felt awkward taking photos of ladies in these "positions"

 and with bananas in their mouths.

After the party, hubby & I went to the Spring Fling.

Basically a mini carnival.

We just went for the food & to walk around.

Sunday we went to the in-laws house & hung out for a bit.

Then we had dinner & went to our local River Walk.

Our city is in the process of constructing a whitewater course.

It was nice to go down there & see so many people just out & about with their families.

This is going to bring lots of tourism here & white water enthusiasts!

I'm just thinking of a way to get in the action- business wise that is.

I've got a few ideas & plans in motion for a new business venture! :)

I'm hoping this upcoming short week flys by!
My company is supposed to HOPEFULLY come out & hook me up to begin working from home.
I am getting SO impatient!

Happy Monday Night!

How was everyone's weekend?

I am behind on reading everyone's blogs but I will get around to it this week. 

We didn't do much other than hang out & go out to eat as usual.

 

We did look at some homes for sale in Vegas and I was very shocked at how

affordable the homes are. We found several 5 BR homes for less than $150k.

We even found an apartment complex for sale with 8 units for $109k.

It's probably in the hood though. LOL!

I did find my dream home for only $3.5 million!

Weekend Recap

I'm doing a phone dump weekend recap since 

I fail miserably at taking my real camera with me!

Friday night hubby had the guys over. 

While I sat in the office editing pics, they decided to go to 

the grocery store to load up on snacks.

Saturday my mom & I went shopping. 

While in Wal-mart I came across this.

At first I thought, WTH!

Then I remembered all of my experiences with bland food & thought this was a good idea.

 Although I would feel kind of weird whipping out my own seasoning at a restaurant!

Saturday night hubby & I had dinner at Bonefish Grill.

We typically don't go to seafood places because I don't eat ANY seafood. 

But it's new here, and hubby likes seafood, and I knew they'd have chicken or steak! 

Bonefish Grill was fabulous!

Great atmosphere, great waitress, & great food.

I even tried their bang bang shrimp.

It was my first time trying shrimp- and I am not a fan.

(Hubby says it was the bomb!)

My steak was good though! lol

Sunday was our friend's 30th Birthday.

We went to a bar & grill called the Suite.

They have a live dj, food, & drinks.

I got there before hubby & his friends so I ordered some cheesesticks.

When they get there they tell me they saw a rat in the same place 3 days prior.

EWWW!

So I wasn't thrilled about eating my cheesesticks at all.

The place was kind of dark so I tried to take a decent pic of the table decor.

And then just bc LWLH blogged about how much she hates putting laundry away I decided to post a pic of my horrible closet. I don't mind washing or drying clothes either, but putting them away is a pain in the ass! I leave them in the basket or dump them on my closet floor! 

Don't judge! I know this is terrible!

And in other great news...

I GET TO WORK FROM HOME!

YAY!

They told us Friday & I am SO happy!

I will be doing the same job but at least it will be from home.

They will be coming out within the next 2 weeks to get everything set up 

so I have to repaint & redecorate since I will be in this room 8 hours a day!
