So Now I am debating on what to purchase!

 

Here are some items I have in mind.

We need a new kitchen faucet. 

I just can't believe how expensive these are!

We also need a new faucet for the guest bathroom, this one looks interesting.

We actually need to replace the ceiling fans in all 3 bedrooms too!

I'd also like to replace all the brass door knobs with bronze knobs.

The kitchen faucet needs to replaced first because it leaks and drives me crazy! But I want to get one we really like-and one that doesn't cost $600!  

The gift certificate doesn't expire so I have some time to decide.

Christmas Weekend Recap

I am so sad that the holidays are over! 

I really do love all the holiday music, the decor, the shopping, etc!

Friday we decided to throw a small last minute Christmas get together. We had several friends over and a few kids. The kids put on a show & sang for us. Unfortunately my karaoke machine stopped working after the first kid sang, oh well!

Hubby looked so festive in his red & green! 

And the kids were adorable with allll of their singing!

Christmas Eve after shopping & lunch, the hubby and I rented some movies & sipped on egg nog. We watched Super 8 & Horrible Bosses. I thought both were great!

Christmas morning hubby & I exchanged gifts and then went to my family's house to eat & exchange more gifts. Hubby got me a CHI curling iron which I've been wanting for 2 years now. He also got me some make-up brushes & perfume. I gave him a Michael Kors watch, clothes, & a year membership for Xbox Live. My brother got me a cheetah print coat from Nordstrom's, my mom got us a new set of pots & pans, and she gave hubby a new jacket. We got my brother a GA coat, a watch case, a gift card, ipad case and my mom a coat and purse. SHe was cracking up because we put some new socks in her purse since she always gets everyone socks. Hubby laughed his ass off because my mom wrapped his socks in a mary kay gift bag. The woman believes in recycling, what can we say? lol! My brother also got us some crazy gifts from the "as seen on tv" aisle. Hubby loves that crap!

After Christmas with my family we went to the hubby's parent's house.

They bought SO many gifts, especially for hubby's little cousin Kayla. 

The best part of the day was when she opened her DS. She cried she was so happy!

We got his parents a giftcard to Cheesecake Factory and they were thrilled.

We all love eating there!

After we got home we realized we didn't take any pics of us together. So we decided to put the camera on the fireplace and put the self timer on. We ended up with so many pics of just him or just me, as the other tried to run & hop in the picture! lol!

Christmas Gift Exchange

Tipsy Tuesday

It really wasn't Tipsy Tuesday because I had a coke, but I did enjoy a nice night out with my friend who was in town for a quick visit.  We went to Chili's for dinner...I LOVE their southwestern eggrolls!

We were talking about past careers and she was telling me how her most favorite job ever (& least paying) was being a Flight Attendant. She said it was lowest paying job though as well.

All I could think of was:

So I applied to be a flight attendant!

Im crazy, I know! 

But hey, you only live once right!? :)

Virus & Racist

Weird post title I know. So let's start first with the virus. This has been the second time in a year that one of the hubby's friend's have used our computer & next thing you know there's a virus. To say I was irate is an understatement. I spent 4 hours last night removing it.

I announced to all the guys (because of course they were all there for Monday Night football) that all internet privileges have been suspended indefinitely! HA!

If you see "Win 7 Antivirus 2012"...it's a virus!!

 

Now on to the racist topic. 

My friend was out shopping & came across a car with the most unbelievable bumper sticker ever! I am just SO shocked that someone could drive around town with this.

If you're from the south, then you know the Confederate flag is a hot topic of discussion.

Some people say its racist & some it's heritage.

IDK. I haven't taken the time out to research the history. But I do know a lot of racist hate groups use this as one of their flags of choice, so it is offensive to a lot of people.

I digress...so my friend saw this bumper sticker on a car:

 

So is this saying, if you had picked your own cotton, instead of bringing slaves over from Africa, we'd have no black people here? I'm not sure if that's the right interpretation but that's how I take it.

The blatant racism in the south is VERY much alive. I'm sure it's everywhere...but it's blatant here and I can't stand it. It's my #1 pet peeve.

Our neighbors that live directly behind us, once hung up a confederate flag on the back of their shed. So that every time we opened our back door, that was the first thing we saw. I wanted to hop the fence and set the flag on fire! Hubby told me leave it alone. I just don't get how he can be so calm. He literally has seen so much racism but doesn't do anything about it which pisses me off to the 10th power!! Once while at work his Asian female coworker told him he was a "dumb ninja" (<-- she didn't say ninja though!) He of course said something to her, but it took a LOT for me to not drive up to that job & kick her @ss. Do you know what the owner did? Sent her to customer service training class. THAT'S IT! How can you not suspend or fire someone for that? I could go on & on with the many situations that my husband has been through. 

He is obviously the calm one in this relationship. IDK what made our neighbors remove the flag, but about a week later they did. This topic infuriates me! 

It's easy for people to SAY racism is dead or people should get over slavery. But unless you truly understand the history and things that black Americans have to go through, then you don't get it. It most certainly has a major effect on why you may see more black people on welfare, not as educated, higher crime rates, etc. And that statement is not meant to offend, it's just a fact.

I could could go on & on but maybe I'll save that for another post.

I did decide to go ahead and cancel my membership. The items were nice, but a lot of the items I had no interest in trying. I've decided to switch over to MyGlam!!

The idea is just like Birchbox except it's all make-up products.

In other news...I forgot to mention something sweet the hubby did a few weeks ago. He used my car to go out of town so I drove his truck. So he came up to my job to trade cars before he left & when I got off work, there were flowers, a sweet card, & some chai tea waiting for me! 

And when I got home, there was the sweetest handwritten letter! :)

So thoughtful!

Weekend Recap

I was lazy ALL weekend for the most part.

Friday night, hubby & I stayed in, ordered pizza, & watched Christmas movies.

I am still distraught that I haven't seen a Christmas Story & I've only watched A Christmas Vacation once.  Usually I've watched both several times by now! lol!

Saturday I took my mom out Christmas shopping. I am SO glad I finished all of mine in October. The crowds were ridiculous! But I still had a great time.  Then when I got home, hubby & I went out to do more shopping & had dinner at Red Robin Yummmm! I love their chicken wraps & parmesan fries!

Their banzai burgers are my absolute favorite but I wasn't in the mood for a burger, but as I'm typing this I wish I would have gotten one, HA!

Today was the ultimate lazy day. Cleaned the house, gave Bebe a bath, gave myself a bath, and watched movies all day. One of our friends is having an ugly sweater party tonight and I just couldn't get myself in the mood to go party on a Sunday night.

I  am so excited for the Christmas weekend but I hate that that means the holiday season is almost over. It seems like time is just flying by!

I want to be a pilot!

We had some friends over last night and of our friends is now dating a pilot! 

She doesn't do it professionally, just for her own enjoyment.

After we all drilled her for like an hour about everything from going to school, the plane, the places she gets to go when she wants...

I am SO looking into flight school!

She was telling us she just plans her routes, calls the airports ahead of time, and can land (usually at no charge) at any airport.  She doesn't have to go through security check points. She just picks up & goes to Tampa for the weekend, or Chicago, or wherever she wants!

I was just so amazed that this young girl owns her own plane & can literally fly wherever & whenever. Her plane can hold 6 people so she's able to have a girls weekend in Vegas, or take the family to the beach, etc.

So I checked out classes, and it would cost me close to $10k. Yes that's a LOT of money, but I figure that's way less than it cost me to go to college and I'd probably get more use out of having a license than my degrees lol!

Second issue is that planes are pretty much the same price as a house. But, she did tell us that we could share a lease with another person or rent planes.  So that's still cheaper than having to buy for individual flights.

This plane is $400k! EEEEK!

So since I'm not ballin like that, I guess I'll have to stick to commercial flights for now...

Or just hope that my friend marries this girl! lol!

Naked 2

This beauty came in the mail today and I'm in LOVE!

 My dear friend Joann bought this for me because it sold out so fast the first time & she knew I wouldn't be able to get to the internet in time to get it myself! Love her for thinking of me!

These colors are AMAZING! Very neutral, shimmery, matte, etc!

I love the names of the various colors!

Especially "Bootycall"! How funny!

 It comes with a full size dual end brush!

The back of the packaging will give you a better idea of what the colors look like!

If you are not a make-up kind of gal, and prefer neutral tones, but every now & then you don't mind spicing things up...this palette is all you need!

You can of course google Naked 2 tutorials & there are several videos that will give you various instructions on how to use it. Here's the first one I found:

Christmas Cards!

I FINALLY ordered our Christmas cards. I of course did 2 day shipping so I can send them out asap. There were just SO many choices. I looked at Tiny Prints, Vista Prints, Shutterfly, Keepsake Designs, and several of the photo labs that I use for ordering client's photos.

I finally picked this card from one of the labs that I use:

I'll upload a copy of ours when it comes in!

I can't wait!!

This was a strong second for me but hubby wasn't feelin the zebra print! Boo!

And then this is the one we both really wanted but we didn't have a vertical picture for it.

This weekend was super busy for us. Hubby went to Augusta for his grandmother's sister's funeral. I couldn't go with because we had a mandatory training class from 8-12 Saturday for work. Although after the class I realized I could've missed the class because....well I won't post that on the internet. lol!

After the class I had an engagement session to shoot. That took about 2 hours and afterwards I had just enough time to relax & freshen up & then go to a 30th birthday dinner for a friend. I was planning to have a craft night with a friend but we were both pooped and decided to reschedule. 

Time to get through another work week y'all...pray for me!

Things that make me say...WTF?!

I ALWAYS occasionally see or hear things that literally make me stop and say WTF. 

I wanted to share my WTF list with you guys. If you've seen anything that can be added to this list let me know. In fact, I may just start a WTF Friday! HA!

First up is the Trendy Top.

Seriously, this is a tube top just being worn around your waist.

Why can't you just wear a regular tank top?

Or how about jeans that don't show your @ss?

Or how about a longer top?

What really made say wtf, is why didn't I think of this! lol!

Next up is this wheelchair car.

(I am by NO means making fun of the handicap.)

You just wheel in from the back, lock the chair in place, & drive with a joystick.

This is actually quite interesting but I do wonder how safe it is.
