Beach Bound!

It's wedding season so I am busy editing lots

of wedding pics.

Happy Memorial Day weekend!

We are beach bound...

St Patty's Day

 Late recap on our St Patty's Day weekend in Biloxi & New Orleans.

The hubby & I and another couple took a road trip with our first stop being Biloxi, MS.

We stayed at the Grand Casino.

This was our view!

We got there at about 9:30pm, kind of late but NEVER too late 

for a casino since they're open 24 hours of course.

So we grabbed a late dinner and hit the slots for the rest of the night.

Saturday we got up early, had breakfast, and I had a quick (free) manicure at the spa.

We then hopped in the car for the 1.5 hour drive to New Orleans.

Before leaving Biloxi, we passed all the floats that were lined up 

for their St Patty's Day parade.

The couple that went with us had never been to New Orleans.

So of course we had to take them to Cafe Du Monde first.

I LOVE their beignets & iced coffee!

Taste so good you'll slap your mamma!

After our little snack we walked across the street to Jackson Square.

I love seeing all the artists and street performers here.

Then of course we went on a stroll through French Quarter.

The infamous Hand Grendades of New Orleans.

I am never surprised by the craziness I see on Bourbon Street.

Our last stop in New Orleans was at this Cigar Factory.

The guys loved it.

They both got some type of cognac flavored cigars!

 

It was definitely a fun weekend getaway.

We didn't come back millionaires, but the 

Grand Casino did give hubby & I a free 7 day cruise certificate to

use next year with Norwegian Cruise Line.

We are so excited and decided on a cruise that will be going to

Mexico, Honduras, & Belize!

 

Today is my Friday!

Tomorrow we are going to Biloxi & New Orleans for the weekend!

I'm excited for our mini vacay, especially since it's 

practically free.

The casino sent me coupons for a free room,

$450 in free gaming credit, & $75 free food credit! 

And a free cruise to use in 2014 if we come this weekend.

We couldn't pass that up!

So wish us luck! 

 

Europe is a go!

Thanks to a very dear friend of mine who lives in Germany,

we have decided on a Eurotrip to Germany, Paris, Amsterdam, & possibly Greece.

So we have decided to fly into Germany first.

My friend & her husband live 2 hours from Amsterdam & 4 hours from Paris and

they have offered to let us stay with them and they will drive us to both

Paris & Amsterdam!

And...IF  I can get a few more days off then the 4 of us will also travel to Greece!

*squeeeel!!!*

This is going to save us so much money since now we'll only need a hotel for Greece!

Now we just have to find decent priced plane tickets!

Gatlinburg Review

Last weekend we went to Gatlinburg to celebrate my husband's birthday!

We stayed at Elk Springs Resort, specifically the cabin called

Fire In the Sky.

We were pleasantly surprised because the images are
100% how the cabin looks.
The only difference was snow instead of sun!

We didn't get in the jacuzzi, but some of our friends did & loved it!

We had 15 fabulous friends spend the weekend with us in Gatlinburg!
Friday we karaoked, watched movies, ordered pizza, & hung out all night.
Saturday we had a huge breakfast, went into downtown Gatlinburg
to explore, have lunch, & shop.
Saturday night we made tacos, watched movies, sang some more, etc.
Sunday we woke up to a Winter Wonderland.
It was snowing so hard!

 

I like to say we're our own Diversity Council:
black, white, korean, vietnamese, italian.
How it should be in my opinion! :)

I can't say enough about this resort!
It was absolutely fabulous & perfect for large goups.
We didn't feel crowded at all and there was plenty of room for everyone.
I'd HIGHLY recommend this place for large group
vacations or family reunions.
We're already planning our next trip back!

Been around the world and i, i, i...

Y'all remember that song right?

Lately we've been trying to figure out where we want

to travel to this year.

Our top 5 picks are:

I have a friend that lives in Germany who has graciously 

invited us to come stay with her while we travel.

She is 2 hours from Paris & 4 hours from Amsterdam.

Hubby's 1st choice is Amsterdam.

My 1st choice is Paris with Greece as a close second.

But I can compromise since Paris & Amsterdam are so

close to each other.

New York City is a definite destination in 2013.

We're just trying to decide when is the best time to go.

We also recently discovered Curacao after watching

House Hunters International!

Did anyone catch that episode?

Curacao is off the coast of Venezuela
and looks absolutely amazing!

We are definitely adding Curacao to our vacation list.

Day 8 & 9- Hawaii Recap

We left Kauai @ 2pm on Friday on our way
back to Honolulu by 7am.

We enjoyed our last day on the ship swimming
& sitting in the jacuzzi.

We also got a special treat when the captain took
us by Niihau.

Niihau was one of the Hawaiian Islands where

Jurassic Park was filmed.

There are only about 150 people who live

on this island. There is no running water, no hotels, &

no one pays rent here!

Magnificent!

On Saturday we woke up to this beautiful sunrise in Honolulu!

 Once we ported in Honolulu, things moved pretty fast.
We hopped in a taxi to take us to a "day hotel"
since our flight wasn't until 6:45pm.
Hubby & brother went swimming in the pool
while me & my mom just relaxed.

My mom was shocked at how high up we were!

Hawaii was absolutely the best vacation ever!
I think everyone should go at least once,
or twice, or 3 times if you're lucky.
