My friend's husband makes these grills so

since we were shopping for a new grill anyways,

of course we bought from them.

In a few hours I'll be driving to Atlanta to see Rihanna...

hopefully!

I say hopefully because she's cancelled

3 tour dates already.

Hubby backed out on me so I'm going 

to this show with the girls!

Home Renovations

This past weekend we had tile installed in our kitchen.

This was a long overdue project,

When we bought the house in 2005 it

already had linoleum in the kitchen.

I'm pretty sure it has been there since the house was built.

Here is the before:

And this isn't the final after picture, because

this was taken before the grout was put in.

Plus we're planning to paint this week, and get a new 

dishwasher and vent hood...

and eventually paint the cabinets.

We had a friend install this for us and

he did a really great job!

Today he's coming back to finish up a few things so hopefully I'll

have some better After pics to post.

Allergies

Last Sunday night I started itching uncontrollably. On my face, arms, back, stomach- all 

over my body! 

I was itching so bad that it was actually beginning to hurt.

Monday morning I woke up feeling like crap again.

I couldn't get a doctor's appointment until Tuesday so I 

just soaked my hands and face in ice cold water

to relieve the itching.

At first thought, I was thinking I caught something from Bebe

because she was scratching too.

Well hubby took Bebe to the Vet Tuesday and turns out

she had an allergic reaction to all the pollen.

No fleas or mites,  thank God!

So they gave her a steroid shot and she was all better.

So my doctor's appointment was a few hours later and

turns  out I had an allergic reaction to the pollen too!

My doctor prescribled me some steroid pills,

zyrtec, and benadryl. 

Yes all 3!

I instantly felt better.

This was me Tuesday Morning,

Swollen Lips & Eyes.

Although the itching went away with medicine, the 

steroids made me feel like complete SHIT the next day!

I had the WORST heartburn that woke me up at 8am and lasted til 4am.

My eyes and face were so puffy and swollen.

I seriously thought I was having a heart attack all day.

My body was sore, my arms hurt, and I had to lay on my

left side all day!

So I refused to take the steroids again.

I stuck to the Zyrtec which relieved my itching.

For the heartburn I tried Ginger Ale, Tums, water, mustard, toothpaste,

and finally got some Zantac 150 which helped.

I'm much better now but only taking the Zyrtec each day.

No more steroids for me- ever!

I can't believe pollen can do this to people!

 

Miss Keys

Last Friday the hubby & I went to the Alicia Keys concert in Atlanta.

We got to Atlanta early enough to have dinner at Hudson Grille

which is downtown ATL & right next door to Phillips Arena.

The show was opened by Miguel who was wonderful!

Excuse the quality of the pics- all I had was my cell phone!

Alicia performed for almost 2 hours.

And let me just say, this girl can SING!

The show was great!

Like I said before, we're not huge Alicia Keys fans but it was

definitely something different and we loved it.

Up next is Rhianna on the 22nd! 

So excited!

Khloe Leigh

My niece made her debut into this world on April 2, 2013

at 6:52am!

She was 7lbs 7oz and 20 inches.
