Even our local news station joined in on the fun.

Lover's Day 2013

I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentine's Day!

My hubby surprised me with this:

 Y'all know I was thinking "What the hell could this be?"

And then I learned never judge a book by its cover!

Hubby did good! :)

I LOVE this bag! 

Hubby & I decided to take my mom out to eat tonight.

We typically prefer to stay in on Valentine's Day because of the crowds,

but since my mom is retired we know she's been bored lately.

She thoroughly enjoyed it so it made it worth the loooong wait! 

Gatlinburg Review

Last weekend we went to Gatlinburg to celebrate my husband's birthday!

We stayed at Elk Springs Resort, specifically the cabin called

Fire In the Sky.

We were pleasantly surprised because the images are
100% how the cabin looks.
The only difference was snow instead of sun!

 

Fabulous movie room!

We didn't get in the jacuzzi, but some of our friends did & loved it!

This was our room!

We had 15 fabulous friends spend the weekend with us in Gatlinburg!
Friday we karaoked, watched movies, ordered pizza, & hung out all night.
Saturday we had a huge breakfast, went into downtown Gatlinburg
to explore, have lunch, & shop.
Saturday night we made tacos, watched movies, sang some more, etc.
Sunday we woke up to a Winter Wonderland.
It was snowing so hard!

 

I like to say we're our own Diversity Council:
black, white, korean, vietnamese, italian.
How it should be in my opinion! :)

I can't say enough about this resort!
It was absolutely fabulous & perfect for large goups.
We didn't feel crowded at all and there was plenty of room for everyone.
I'd HIGHLY recommend this place for large group
vacations or family reunions.
We're already planning our next trip back!

Pinterest Cooking

Raise your hand if you have tried a recipe from Pinterest?

I have pinned so many recipes that I am 

now having to go back and recategorize them into 

different boards for crackpots, casseroles, etc.

2 weeks ago I tried 2 receipes in 1 week.

The first was  Slow Cooker Cheesy Chicken and Rice.

This was VERY easy to make.

The taste was alright.

It was missing something, but since I'm not a cook 

I couldn't quite put my finger on it.

 My next recipe was Southwestern Chopped Chicken Salad.

This was a pain to make but it was tasty.

(I say pain, because it required a lot more than I am used to doing in the kitchen!)

Next time, if there is a next time, I would leave out the cilantro though.

It makes a HUGE difference if you use a brush to 

apply your foundation.

It's very awkward if you're used to using your hand or a sponge,

but after some practice you won't be able to turn back.

Been around the world and i, i, i...

Y'all remember that song right?

Lately we've been trying to figure out where we want

to travel to this year.

Our top 5 picks are:

I have a friend that lives in Germany who has graciously 

invited us to come stay with her while we travel.

She is 2 hours from Paris & 4 hours from Amsterdam.

Hubby's 1st choice is Amsterdam.

My 1st choice is Paris with Greece as a close second.

But I can compromise since Paris & Amsterdam are so

close to each other.

New York City is a definite destination in 2013.

We're just trying to decide when is the best time to go.

We also recently discovered Curacao after watching

House Hunters International!

Did anyone catch that episode?

Curacao is off the coast of Venezuela
and looks absolutely amazing!

We are definitely adding Curacao to our vacation list.

My hubby is 33 today!

I love this man with all my heart.

He is my rock & best friend and I am 

beyond thankful that God put us in each others life.

 

We will be spending the weekend in Gatlinburg, TN with friends!
