Birch Box

I joined the bandwagon & signed up for Birch Box!
I can't say for sure yet if I am happy with it because
I just got my first box today and haven't tried all the samples yet.

So here's my box:

I received Incoco Nail Polish applique in cheetah print, Salvatore Farragamo Attima perfume (smells great), Jurlique ultra firm & lift cream, Jouer lip treatment, Colorescience mineral powder, & a friendship bracelet (which I immediately threw away).

These look fun but I keep french tips on all the time so I don't know if I'll ever get to try them.

How was your Birch Box this month?

I missed my friend Hannah's baby shower this past Saturday but I still got her a gift. One of my favorite things is personalized gifts. So I am a frequent shopper of Things Remembered.
I decided to get her a snow globe called "The Light of God."
I think it would be perfect in the nursery!

The prayer says:
"The Light of God surrounds me. The Love of God enfolds me.  The Power of God protects me.The Presence of God watches over me. Wherever I am, God is and all is well. Amen."

I had it personalized with the baby's name. And the added bonus is that it plays Amazing Grace!

Think she'll like it?
I'm meeting with her tonight to shoot her maternity pics.
I'm so excited for them!

And in other exciting news (for me anyways)...I finished 90% of my Christmas shopping!
WOOT WOO!! I just have 2 more gifts to buy and I am officially done. HALLELUJAH! I have never shopped this early but I feel SO relieved! I say I am going to start early every year & never do. I can't believe I finally did it. It's so good to know I won't be broke or in debt for the new year.

Has anyone else started their Christmas shopping?
You better hurry, there's only 102 days left!

Rejection

I didn't get the job I interviewed for a few weeks ago. Oh well, what can you do?
I am SO ready for a change.
Blah!

I've been trying to brainstorm to see what I could do on my own. I already own a photography business which is doing great, but I am kind of burnt out on that as well.

I recently came across a book that seems quite interesting. It's written by a local author. It's a personal memoir about a woman who was married to a pastor, and then one day in church, a male member of the congregation stood up and ousted the pastor for being gay. The pastor committed suicide sadly. It's not about bashing him, it's about how God helped her overcome.

Orders placed by September 20th will receive an autographed copy.

9/11 Party

One of our neighbors threw a 9/11 Remembrance block party for the neighborhood today. I provided Olive Penguin appetizers. They were very easy but tedious to make!

What you need is:
Olives
Carrots
Cream Cheese
Toothpicks
I used a sandwhich bag & filled it with cream cheese to stuff the olives. You can pretty much tell from the pics as to what to do with the rest....

 My army of Happy Feet!

I found this on Pizzazzerie...who found them on Once Upon a Plate!

What do yall think? Im kinda proud of myself for my first attempt at these.

So to all my True Blood fans...what did you think?
OMG. That is all I can say. I can't wait til next season!!

Auburn vs Mississippi State

We had a GREAT time at the game Saturday!
It was both mine & the hubby's first time at an SEC game.

We both decided to dress for the occasion & support Auburn. Our friends who invited us are Auburn fans, and I know most die hard UGA or LSU fans would never wear another team's gear, but to us, it's just not that serious. We enjoy all SEC teams & rivals!

Guess what...I took pics! Finally!!

To get in the spirit I went out to look for whatever orange & blue attire I could find. I didn't go with a team shirt bc I knew it would be unlikely that I'd wear it again. So here's my game day attire.

I also found this Auburn necklace which I think is so adorable.
And I have some friends that are true Auburn fans that I can pass it along to.

Hubby found this shirt on clearance for $10!
I was SO shocked that we was willing to wear an Auburn shirt.

As soon as we got to Auburn we had lunch at Five Guys. We really like that place yall! lol! Something about those malt vinegar fries! YUM!

Afterwards we decided to go the bar next door to kill some time before the game. When we walked in we heard people cheering and we realized...we were late for the game. We were still on GA time instead of Auburn time! So we speed walked to the stadium asap. The emptiness on the streets should have been a clue! lol!

When we finally got there, we had these fabulous views of the game...

But to be honest...I probably missed 90% of the game. It was just TOO hot to sit out there. I felt my heart racing and I was getting dizzy. And that was it for me.  I went down to the covered corridor for the rest of the game pretty much. People were passing out left & right and being taken out on stretchers. I drank a coke & 3 bottled waters and I was still too hot. I don't think I will be going to any more games while it's still hot like this.

If anyone watched the game, you know it was SO good with a great ending. The team spirit in Auburn is just amazing. It makes me wish I could turn back time & go to a big school like that.

After the game it's of course tradition to go to Toomer's Corner to roll the trees!
Yall can click  on that link and watch a live feed of Toomer's Corner.
I hate it for the people who have to clean up all that toilet paper! Ha!

After this we went to a bar for drinks, then to Mos for some bbq, & then we headed home.
We had a GREAT time at our first SEC game! I am looking forward to going to some more...but definitely when it's cooler!

We got home in time to watch the last part of the UGA game. Talk about MAD.  I have no words for that. And right after that we watched Notre Dame v Michigan. I was rootin for Notre Dame bc my dad was from Indiana. So I've always like them. Not a huge fan, but I do cheer for them if I catch a game. And THAT was definitely another crazy football game. Lord!! And of course LSU won, although we didn't get to watch any of their game. Hubby was very happy about that of course.
I never thought I'd spend a whole Saturday dedicated to football!

So how did your teams do Saturday?

And I just want to ad a note since today is 9/11/11....10 years since one of the most terrible days in American History. Let us never forget those we lost in this horrific attack. And let us all pray for all the families & friends directly affected, as well as all Americans period.
We are supposed to be going to a neighborhood remembrance party  later on this evening. I thought it was really nice that one of our neighbors decided to host this.

YouTube Saturdays

Since my Saturday posts are typically pre-scheduled...I think I'm going to start a "YouTube Saturday" trend. Basically I'm just going to post funny or interesting YouTube videos I've found.  If you want to link up or participate, feel free! :)

So here's the quicky image I came up with:

And here's the interesting video I found....
Ekilps...the human beat box.

There's got to be a lot of spit on that microphone! Eww! lol
But isn't he great? I'm impressed...but what can do you with that kind of talent?
This video made me think of this guy from Police Academy!

Do yall remember him?

Please link up below if you have a fun YouTube Video to share!

If anyone else started this or has this on their blog, I'm not trying to steal your idea!

House Par-tay!!

Have yall heard of House Party?

Not the movie...
The website...

If you like throw parties, you need to sign up ASAP!

Here's an except from their website:

"House Party makes it easy to have a party in your own home and get exclusive access to awesome products for you and your friends. We provide the fun, you provide food, your friends and feedback and promise to have an amazing time.
Our parties are sponsored by the brands you love. By hosting, you and your guests get to try their products and receive an incredible Party Pack chock full of goodies! You don’t pay anything or sell anything. It’s a no-pressure party. Just tell us what you and your guests think."

So to sum it up, if you get selected to host a party, you will get things like coupons for free items from various sponsors. You & your friends then review the items & you upload pics & thoughts to the website. Sounds like fun! So since I love to throw parties, I figured why not.

After yesterday's fire scare, I wanted to ask all you pet owners to make sure you have some type of notification on your door or window that lets people know you have a pet inside. You can order a free pet rescue window decal and it will let emergency personnel know that they need to save your pets. If you love your pets as much as I love mine, make sure they are protected.

The ASPCA will send you a free window decal. You can go to their website to order one now!

Don't yall love short weeks? I am ready for the weekend...
This Saturday I was supposed to be going to a  baby shower but our friends invited us to the Auburn vs Mississippi game! So we'll be heading to Auburn this weekend! I am SO excited. I've never been to an Auburn game & I know their fans have some serious team spirit. So I am looking forward to tailgating & rolling Toomer's Corner!

The only problem is what do I wear?!
